Lilienthal 31 on kehitetty yhteistyössä DMFV:n kanssa kerhoissa ja kouluissa rakennettavaksi.
Lilienthal on valmistettu kokonaan puusta ja päällystetään silkkipaperilla. Siiven alapuoli on tasainen, jotta rakentamisen aikana ei syntyisi ongelmia.
Kaikki balsa, abachi ja vanerista valmistetut osat on leikattu tarkasti laserilla.
Siiven etu- ja takareunat ovat jyrsitty ja uurrettu, jotta siipikaaret sopivat erinomaisesti.

Lilienthal 31 is the joint further development in cooperation with the DMFV for youth work in clubs and work groups for schools. The Lilienthal 30 model previously manufactured by aero-naut has been revised so that the construction time could be further reduced. A thermal brake and curve control were omitted in order to obtain a quick and uncomplicated structure. The instructions contain information on how to upgrade the model with subsequent curve control. The Lilienthal is made entirely of wood with a covering of Japanese paper. The wing has a flat surface on the underside so that no problems can arise during construction. All parts made of balsa wood, abachi and plywood are precisely laser cut. The leading and trailing edges are milled and notched to give the ribs the proper space and support. The kit includes a detailed description of the construction with a drawing of the construction stages and a construction plan.
