PowerBox Core Black "Pro Class Transmitter"

Core transmitters were introduced in 2019, after which a growing number of enthusiasts have switched to using this Pro-level transmitter.

In the CORE transmitter, everything important (batteries and controls) is backed up in duplicate.

PowerBox has a highly motivated product development team that is constantly working on system expansions and improvements.

We also get ideas from customers that we always take into account.

Each PowerBox CORE transmitter is assembled to the customer's exact specifications at the PowerBox plant in Donauwörth, where it is also inspected.

Power supply

PowerBox-Systems is famous for its redundant power supplies, and the CORE power management system naturally includes this: the transmitter uses two separate lithium-ion battery packs, each rated at 3400 mAh / 7.2 V, and the entire power control circuit is also a certified feature currently only available on CORE in. The operating time of the transmitter is about eight hours when the display is clear and the system is at maximum load.

Fast signal transmission

CORE offers 26 channels, each with a resolution of 4096 bits. Nevertheless, control data is transmitted using a 10 ms frame rate with zero delay. All channels have full resolution and there are no restrictions on frame rate.

Telemetry

Telemetry has already become a basic feature of all models and will become even more important in the coming years, so we have considered this aspect of the system important. The handling and transfer of telemetry has undergone a comprehensive redesign process value, and the system can send up to 800 x 16-bit values per second. Looking to the future, this level of performance opens up completely new possibilities, such as in the real-time servo monitoring model. However, the P²BUS telemetry interface is also open to external suppliers who already offer software upgrades to their existing sensor range. The customer simply has to download the software update and can then continue to use the sensor repository without any problems. Setting up the entire telemetry system and setting the parameters is a convenient operation that the transmitter performs using a 2.4 GHz radio link.

Linux

CORE includes a modern, powerful industrial Linux PC controlled by a fully integrated touch screen. The basic look and feel of the software is identical to a typical smartphone. The intuitive interface provides quick access to all related settings, allowing models to be programmed with minimal effort. Each feature of the interface is programmed with Toolkit Qt. Today, this development environment is virtually standard in the field of embedded graphical user interfaces and is used by many well-known manufacturers. The transmitter display is manufactured to the specifications of PowerBox-Systems and is also very readable in bright sunlight. All you need is a light touch on the surface of the capacitive touchpad. The shortcut keys (shortcut keys) at the bottom of the screen provide instant access to important functions such as Servo Monitor and Screen Lock. Internal data transfer is via the CAN bus. This proven bus system is absolutely ideal for use and has been used successfully in the automotive and aerospace industries for decades. As standard, a Linux computer has OpenGL support, which will provide almost unlimited possibilities for graphics in the future as well.

Highlights

A particularly noteworthy feature is the unique speech output system. Other systems require the pilot to create audio files on a computer and then effortlessly copy them to a transmitter, but CORE is equipped with a TTS (Text to Speech) server licensed by Acapella. This is currently the most advanced TTS system, offering multiple voices for each language; these can be used individually to indicate telemetry values or switch locations. Upon request, you can even set a landing reminder spoken by the Queen of England!

Another unique point of sale for the CORE system is the ability to upgrade the receivers yourself using a 2.4 GHz radio link. Never again is the instructor required to remove the receiver from the depth of the model to download a software update. All it takes is a simple press, and 30 seconds later the receiver is completely up to date again.

The CORE transmitter even has Bluetooth and WiFi as standard, and in the future it will send telemetry data to a web portal so that the data can be conveniently analyzed later on a smartphone or computer using web browser software. Model memories and other information can also be managed in this way from the transmitter.

To complement the hardware, a GPS system and a 9-axis motion sensor are included to keep all options open for future applications.

Really easy to use and clear transmitter.
