B25 Mitchell

At the beginning of the war, the B-25 was faster in a dive than many fighter aircraft.
No bombardier was needed at low level, so many Mitchells were fitted with fixed, weapon-mounted noses. One B-25H sank a Japanese destroyer with just seven shots.
Mitchells were still flying as multi-engine trainers in the 1950s.
